About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Exploring every corner of the world on a retired nurses' income. Engaging with real people who are living their lives authentically.
ABOUT ME
I am an active, adventurous and energetic senior; off to see the world in retirement!
I am a Yankee, born and raised in New Hampshire, USA. I pursued a nursing career in addition to my career as a wife and mother to two daughters, now in their 40's. Now, my daughters are grown and independent mothers with careers and I am free to follow my passion for travel.
I'm a "doer", organizer and people connector. I've organized & run a community food co-op and co-founded a community non-profit organization.
PHILOSOPHY
Make like a turtle and go with the flow!
The past is history, the future is a mystery, today is a gift, that's why we call is the present.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I will be traveling almost full time for the next couple of years, I'm not in a position to host. (I have a house in North Carolina that is rented for the next few years.) However, when I finally settle down, I would love to host other couchsurfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a newbie to couchsurfing. I had a wonderful first experience in Copenhagen.
Interests
Culture, people, nature, experiencing real people where they live. I also enjoy outdoor activities, exploring nature and hiking, as well as anything on the water, especially swimming, rafting, kayaking, & snorkeling.

Music, Movies, and Books
For music, my tastes are eclectic, but I tend to listen to soft rock, folk and women's music. When I'm traveling, I love to experience local folk music and dance.
My favorite movie genres are comedy, drama, mysteries & thrillers; also movies based on real life events & people.
I'm hoping to do much more reading in my retirement. Generally, I enjoy mysteries and thrillers, also historical fiction and fantasy. Mostly, I seem to be reading travel books and internet travel information.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I co-founded a community non-profit call SWOOP (Strong Women Organizing Outrageous Projects).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my enthusiasm for life and travel. :)
I'm a pretty good cook and I'm happy to help anyone with conversational English.
