About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Building Community and sharing

ABOUT ME

Whoever said 50 is the NEW 30 was definitely on to something... But what's more important is I STILL feel like I'm 25, and the child is very alive in me!

I'm quiet at times, but very out going. Can be talkative, but also respect people's space and privacy.

PHILOSOPHY

Creating community by being a good person, and helping when and where I can...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host from time to time, but haven't lately because I've been working lots of overtime. Hopefully that will change soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met this really great guy named Otis, from the Channel Islands, who was surfing at former friend's house and after spending some time with him, and another surfer named Felix, from the UK, I was sold on the entire concept -- and I'm ready to participate.

Interests

I'm interested in sailing, flying, hiking, biking, dogs, music, cooking, wine, vodka, good food, wine and more vodka.

I'm also interested in meeting people from other cities, states, and countries. Foreigners are GREAT and are extra welcomed!

Music, Movies, and Books

We can talk about this in person...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Several things come to mind -- I've traveled around the world, and also sailed around the world (which was pretty amazing), and have been on every continent, except Antarctica, but I could see some of it when sailing south of Tierra del Fuego.

The most amazing thing I've done in my life is spend 6 years volunteering at a domestic violence shelter, and while raising over a quarter of a million dollars on their capital campaign, I was very involved in doubling the size of the shelter, while gutting the original structure down to the studs. When anyone is in an abusive relationship, and wants to flea from that, with no place to go, they deserve to find a shelter that's clean / safe, and is a healthy environment.

Teach, Learn, Share

sounds good to me...
