ABOUT ME
Things one should Know Before Offering to host me:
"Intense" is one of the words most commonly used to describe me-this can go both ways and some people have a hard time dealing with my intensity...and with how intensely quiet I can be at times as well.
On the Flip side, "Animated" is also one of the words that comes up over and over again, my Spirit just Catches on Fire with the 'Right' people, and you can hardly shut me up for a little while-at least until it's time for me to be Really, Really Quiet again.
People who are 'Worriers' should Never Host me-my chosen lifestyle of the moment makes them way too uncomfortable-and trying to assuage their concerns is exhausting to me. I have purposely taken to the road and am currently living out of my little "Cocoon" (an overstuffed Honda Minivan, filled w/super comfy blankets and pillows galore), in which I actually prefer sleeping most nights. Couchsurfing for Me, is more about the Journey and the people I meet, and what we can share with each other and discover together (the occasional shower, sanctuary, or WiFi connection is almost always a boon, but is truly secondary at best).
One last thing-some people find me at times to be a bit Dark and even occasionally "Spooky" due to the "Heaviness" of a lot of my conversation topics (Not always, and not everyone, by any means-a Lot of people Really Enjoy Meeting and Getting to Know Me). If this, in context of the rest of my profile, appeals to you, plz do contact me, if not-plz wait. Leave all fear behind as you travel into the Great Unknown!
PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Muse, Catalyst, Instrument of the Gods/Angels (However you want to refer to "It")...Spreading the CS Love Wherever I go,
and I'm Always Pimping out the Independent Female Travelers Group to the other "With It" Women I meet traveling.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been couchsurfing 15 yrs, more on than off (often lived in hotels, even when I was "settled down" for a few months or yrs), as well as hosting friends, and friends of friends, and the occasional Weirdos I barely knew before they stayed with me-who are mostly now...Great Friends!
Interests
Freaks, Geeks and Human Oddities!
As well as everything creative and artistic, new and unusual experiences, and finding the right places (and people) to chill for some good downtime.
More so these days, I find myself drawn to the Healing Arts, and am exploring those avenues and people who can show/share things in this vein with me. Feel free to email me any suggestions of people, places, Bks, films, etc., that you think I would benefit from seeing-but plz understand that Organized religions are Not My Path, and I no longer have the energy available to explain this to everyone trying to 'Save' me in any way. I'm Quite Adept at Saving Myself, but Thank You.

Music, Movies, and Books
(this list is currently under revision-but it's time consuming, so check back later)
The Ultimate Couchsurfer Collection:
Film-Roadside Prophets (w/Adam Horowitz),
Road Music-The Red Elvises (russian-psycho-surfer-rockabilly-swing-band)
The B52's, and any decent 70's Funk,
& My all time favorite road books,
Dr. Suess's Oh the Places You'll Go!,
Paulo Cohelo's The Alchemist,
and Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land,
as well as most of my favorite nutjob, Phillip K. Dick's crazy assed bks, and Richard Bach's Illusions:the Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah,
I also really dig Conversations w/God, and Marianne Williamson's A Return to Love (about A Course in Miracles) and A Woman's Worth, everything by J. Krishnamurti, and Einstein's Ideas and Opnions absolutely makes my panties wet!
Other Favorites include The Master and Margarita, Jitterbug Perfume and Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophesies of Agnes Nutter, Witch-and my very Favorite quote of all time:
"You're obliged to pretend respect for people and institutions you think absurd. You live attached in a cowardly fashion to moral and social conventions you despise, condemn, and know lack all foundation. It is that permanent contradiction between your ideas and desires and all the dead formalities and vain pretenses of your civilization which makes you sad, troubled and unbalanced. In that intolerable conflict you lose all joy of life and all feeling of personality, because at every moment they suppress and restrain and check the free play of your powers. That's the poisoned and mortal wound of the civilized world." Octave Mirbeau, 1899
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My 3rd time up in the Swiss Alps, someone finally took me high enough that I "got" it-ya gotta really get Way Up There, and then it totally Takes your Breath Away.
And Iridescent Blue Butterflies the size of dinner plates in Costa Rica, Absolutely Magical!
Attaining an ecstatic state without drugs or an 'In-Love' relationship, and maintaining it for nearly 6 months, thru several trials and tribulations-including losing an 'In-Love' relationship. Then the World encroached and the fear returned and consumed me, bursting my little bubble of Bliss-but I Am working on returning to that state, and hope to share it with many on this Journey.
Teach, Learn, Share
***1-this needs to be passed around-especially to parents and teachers, phenomenal site!!!
dianovo.org is also a great new myspace type site to connect "Green" entrepenuers and consumers and expand our community and efforts.
2-Hitchhiker's Guid to the Galaxy has excellent travel advice "A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have"
3-A few Tips especially for Americans, I find it extremely helpful to learn at least a few words in the language of the country you are traveling in-most people appreciate the effort tremendously-it really distinguishes you from the typical self absorbed, self entitled american tourist-and then they will quite often go ahead and speak to you in Brilliant English!
Also-if people are not receptive when you tell them you are from the US, try telling them you are from NY or Hollywood (California in general seems to work as well-and now of course). Everyone is understandably pissed at Americans in general, but they also LOVE NY and the movies. I found this made an enormous difference in how people treat me when I travel abroad.
4-To all the female CSer's out there-plz don't Ever feel like you are obligated to host anyone, especially if you aren't comfortable with it. This is a free exchange service and there are plenty of hosts to go around. Check out the Independent female travelers group, even if you don't fly solo, it has excellent advice and great conversations on just about everything.
5-Checking out the Groups is one of the best ways to integrate into the CS system and find likemined people. Alternative ways of Living and Consuming is another of my favorites, lots of helpful posts and great people.
