Travelling through South America on a bicycle
ABOUT ME
Sang's home is on the road; he seems to be the eternal nomad. Sang has a great love for outdoor activities and very much enjoys sharing such adventures with like-minded people. Wherever he goes, Sang also really likes to experience local culture. Of course, he's always happy to meet old and new friends. In a previous career Sang worked as a volunteer at Costa Rica's National Biodiversity Institute, as a scientific researcher at the Brussels University and as a hydrographic surveyor for maritime works worldwide.
PHILOSOPHY
Live the dream & die young (but as late as possible :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surf, meet, maybe host: there's one extra place in my tent!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfing in Corsica, Argentina and Chile
Interests
The past years I have been travelling and climbing from Canada and Thailand to Europe and Morocco. What I love about climbing is not only the physical and mental challenge, but the whole lifestyle: It makes you visit stunningly beautiful places, be close to nature and meet colourful inspiring people.
My current big project is travelling through South America on a bicycle. The tour started November 2012 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During the first austral summer I explored Patagonia. Winter time brought me from Central Chile and Argentina to southern Bolivia and back to Chile. Now I'm very gradually making my way toward Colombia and Venezuela, eventually crossing the whole continent.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spotting bull shark and tapir in Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica, in the same day! Seeing and actually hearing fish munching coral away when snorkelling at Surin Island, Thailand!
Less funny: being caught by Gustav -a full-on category 4 hurricane- in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. Or: having my tent completely ripped to pieces when camping in the Canadian wilderness...
Teach, Learn, Share
