About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to become location-independent and provide value to others wherever in the world I find myself.

ABOUT ME

I've been traveling since June 2014, but I'm currently catching my breath by renting an apartment in Zarautz, Spain. I'm a sometimes IT consultant traveling the world photographing, meeting people, learning as much as I can about this world. 4.5 years ago, I sold all of my possessions, and left to travel, volunteer, do odd jobs, etc. in South America for 1.5 years. I went back to the states and worked for another year, but decided I wasn't done. I've traveled for over a year and a half now, including UK, Portugal, Spain, France, Scandinavia, Germany, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Turkey, India-Nepal-Sri Lanka, the Balkans and now I'm back in the Basque country to spend 3 months surfing and find somewhere to resume my IT career.

PHILOSOPHY
Just be okay with it all. (never to be mistaken for complacency). Dream the results, realize the intention and steps to make that dream come true, but don't get attached to a specific set of results. Don't worry, it'll all turn out okay...even when it doesn't, it still is! :)

Live everything. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Verified member of Couch Surfing, and I've started hosting now that I have my own "surfable couch". :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met fellow travelers through couch surfing and hosting, and all have been amazing interesting people! And it's nice to give back by hosting and promoting the philosophy and culture of couchsurfing. I love meeting fellow travelers who need a place to stay and are interested in having a semi-local show them around :)

Interests

Expanding my knowledge of people, culture and myself through travel. Surfing, running, hiking, climbing, cycling etc.

Toss-up between living and working on the Galapagos for over 2 months and tour guiding on the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. I also raced mountain bikes semi-professionally for 10 years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Spanish, give you travel advice on South America, North America, Europe, and the Indian subcontinent, as I've spent a lot of time on each, teach you some basic surfing, show you how to play the charango, the ukulele, and basic stuff on the guitar, all sorts of computer stuff (I'm a software guy by trade), cycling, running, travel gear.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I travel with and play the charango :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charango
