About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning and learning from other people.

ABOUT ME

Hi everyone. It's probably time I update my CS profile. So I'm an osteoarchaeologist. I am from the south of Belgium (Liège) but I've been living in Brussels for 8 years with my boyfriend where I studied slavistic languages and history of art and archeology. I've travelled a lot to the Czech Republic (numerous times and accross the whole country) and I love to eat Czech food (although I am more on the vegearian side of the force). I have spent 6 months studying in Prague and a few weeks in Brno.

I got a wonderful opportunity to combine studies and travels again and spent a year in Sheffield, near Manchester. England was amazing and I hope to go back to the Peak District very soon.

Back home, you'll find me busy working in a lab, doing MOOC's and reading tons of stuff about history and science. I occasionally go out for gigs (or nice espresso bars!) but I tend to leave the city as much as I can and go for a walk in nature. The more surrounded by crumbling ruins, the better.

PHILOSOPHY

Wouldn't it be nice to live multiple lives?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Travelling alone as a teenager has changed my life.. So now it's my turn to host people from abroad.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I travelled a lot without being properly couchsurfing, my real CS experience was in Kiev (Ukraine) in 2009. I must admit I haven't done CS for years now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music 🎶
New Wave, Folk, Indus, classical : The Cure, Faith & the Muse, .. Haendel in particular 🎻
Weirdly enough I also love to lounge with calm Indian music, very soothing vibes 🧘🏻‍♀️

Movies 🎥
I am quite selective. It must be either super informative about a specific topic ( I love documentaries) or very aesthetic and atmospheric. I love old mansions, castles and ghost stories. And historical movies especially about WWI.
And long live the quality of the BBC!! 👑 📺

Books 📚
Oh my goodness.. my weakness. I am a bookworm. If you can talk about books.. then we must meet!
Mallarmé, Rimbaud, Baudelaire , Franz Kafka, Edgar A. Poe, Lovecraft, Lewis, Ann Radcliffe, mythologies and legends, futurism, lots of ghost stories, to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ah, well. I was lucky enough to take part in :
Archaeological excavations in Corsica
Language summer school in Czech Republic
Internship in Prague
Internship in Los Angeles
Travels in Route 66, Yosemite, Yellowstone
Travels in Ukraine (Kiev, Odessa <3 )
Travels in Canada (Montréal, Toronto, Niagara Falls)

Feel free to ask if you have any question.
