About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Homeward bound for the 1st time in 5 years!
ABOUT ME
A 40-year-old fun-loving, freethinking male with have chronic fibromyalgia, a set back but mildly manageable. I love to socialize but also relish time alone (because that's how I have been for most of the time). I have lived abroad for 8 years and it's taken a toll on me. If I decide to surf please be courteous towards my ailment (others haven't been). If you would like to have me around for some days, let me know. PS. I drink and smoke.
PHILOSOPHY
If you think "someone (or something) is out to get you", he/she (or it) probably is... (paranoia leads to too much suffering in this world)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't been active in a long time, as I have been working and living abroad for 8 years.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
To be perfectly honest about 50% of the people I've crashed with have been totally great and the other 50% have been total douche bags. Two f'd up instances I remember: 1) I was stranded in a bar and couldn't find my way home because my host decided to score and not tell me (South Korea). 2) A roommate of my host fondled me in my sleep (luckily I woke up).
Interests
...include howling at the moon, crying in the rain, blowing in the wind, shuffling in the snow, splashing in the sea, and smiling in the sun.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I'm privy to Simon Pegg flicks lately (Hot Fuzz, Shawn Of The Dead, Paul, How To Lose Friends And Alienate People) and usually anything with Jeff Bridges and Liam Neeson usually gets at least one view.
Music: All but po(o)p
Books: The Alchemist, Brave New World
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share
I've had some of the strangest adventures.
For instance my first 'stranger couch' (not a CS member) in Tallinn, Estonia¦
My host actually had a diabetic seizure/convulsion while I was knocked out from Jet-lag. By the time I awoke, I saw this stranger in trouble. Not knowing how to react, I call my folks back home from her cell for treatment advance (as I didnât know how call/ask for help). Thinking she just had alcohol poisoning, I attempted to keep her blood circulating while massaging her hands and feet, applying a warm washcloth on her forehead. I did everything to improve her condition, but nothing worked. To make things worse, her untrained mutt kept jumping on us, tugging at our clothes, discharging all over her apartment.
After several hours of attempting to revive her, her cell finally rang, and I answered it hoping the person at the end line spoke English. Sure enough, I wasn'tt previous been made aware of my hostss diabetic condition, but luckily now paramedics were soon on the way!
Had I not been able to relay her condition to someone who could understand me, she would have been in a coma within a few hours¦ And it took the paramedics two hours just to revive her in her apartment, but the ended up taking her to the hospital for 24-hour close observation.
The ironic thing, despite possibly saving her life, she kicks me out just some days later with only $400 to juggled (and I booked only a one-way flight). All and all, this wasn't exactly the heart-warming welcome I had expected :p
And from there my experiences get even more interesting!
