ABOUT ME

I'm a 38-year-old former lawyer, now legal academic, born and raised all over the US. I've most recently lived in Los Angeles' beach community, Santa Monica, for nine years, before visiting in 2012 and then moving to Umeå, Sweden. I speak more and more Swedish, some French, and excessive English. My Swedish partner and I sometimes travel with some or all of our kids, ages 15, 13 and 7 as of summer 2014, and sometimes alone. I've hosted and surfed before, but not yet while bumming around northern Europe, so we're getting excited to do so!

I've hosted in the past in Santa Monica CA and met fantastic people from everywhere-- which felt like extra travels even when we didn't leave home. And I've surfed some in Scotland, France and England (thus far!)

Meeting and supporting creative, kind, diverse people; natural places; the finer aspects of city life like live music and dance spots and historic places, plus entirely too much YouTube, TV and film, etc. at home :>.
