About Me

¡¡¡¡¡ IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS !!!!!

---- Due to reasons of personal time and duties I can only have hosts at home 5 nights per month.
---- My life is very spontaneous. I don't use to accept requests 1 month before your arrival.
---- The most important one! If you don't have a smiling photo in your profile, please, don't write me!
---- I also appreciate a lot personal messages. I receive a lot of messages everyday, try to tell me why I should host you!
---- If you don't write me personal requests, don't expect a personal reply. Maybe this can seem useless, because the people that don't write personal messages are those that don't read the profiles...

HI EVERYONE! ;)

I’m Santiago Meseguer Cervera, from Valencia, Spain. On 2016 I discovered the amazing world of Couchsurfing. This wonderful family showed me a totally different way of living that I thought it didn't exist. It showed me a different way of thinking, seeing things, sharing, listening, talking... It showed me a different way of loving life. I have been in places and I have lived experiences I thought I would have never had. I am (and I will always be) super grateful with all this community. This is why I'm going to be always willing to share all I have with any host or surfer :)

I’m a very energetic man that always wants to do something and meet people. Right now I'm very into acroyoga (ig: shantiacroyoga), handstands, thai-massage, circus acrobatics, climbing and hiking. I'm an acroyoga teacher on my free time and I love teaching. So if you are willing to learn some acroyoga, you have big chances that I accept your request! I love nature and animals; this is why I’m vegetarian (thinking on veganism), because I think animals are not products. I love walking without any direction, any target, because the beauty is on the path, not in the finish. I love taking a beer/coffee in good company. I like drawing (you can see some photos of my drawings), but I don’t do it as often as I would like to. I really love talking about life and practicing meditation. People also say I have a very expressive face and I would be good at theater. So this is me, always smiling, always positive, always laughing and I have a big sense of humor. I'm happy, sympathetic, active, open, easy-going... Yes, I also have bad days, as we all do. But this is never going to be a reason for making worse the day of other person. So I will always be up for a soul-lifting conversation no matter what is going on inside me.

But of course it doesn’t make much sense to describe my own self, who would say “I’m a horrible person, don’t meet me”? So if you want to have a more objective idea about me, just read my references, because my hosts and guests did such a good job.

MY PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE

Life is constant movement and it blows you in all directions. Keep yourself flexible and bend when you have to bend. If you try to be rigid avoiding any bending, you could break.

Live everyday as if all the other days would be like the one you are living right now.

One of the main mistakes in life is believing in our thoughts.

Hearing words, listenning souls :)

Happiness is a state of your mind. You will only find it inside you, never outside. There is an important difference between fun and happiness. Fun depends on the outside, so you can not control it. Happiness depends only in the inside, and that is all in your control. You just have to train your inside through meditation.

Mind is an essential tool, but it’s also the one that worries about and thinks too much. The one that jumps back to the past and flies into the future. It’s the one that makes judgments and comparisons. Mind has a lot of amazing things, but it also has ego and time inside. It will try to rule and bring you out of the now and here. This is why is really important to be able to not feel identified with mind. Step away from your mind and you will be more aware of your conscience.

The nowadays-social conceptualization of “problem” only exist on the time. When you are worried because of a problem is when you don’t have really intentions or chances to change it in the here and now. When you really have the intention and chance to change it you are too busy trying to solve it that you stop worrying.

I'm very interested in cognitive psychology. What happens to us doesn't affect us so much. What really affect us is what we tell ourselves about what happen to us. It's everything in our mind. This method is based on looking for a rational way of thinking in which we can turn any situation and find a reason for being happy and greatful with life, regardless what happen to us. You can be happy if you truly want to!

It is not about avoiding negative feelings (we needed them to become who we are now, and you still needing them to keep growing), but about to observe them. Look at those emotions, face to face, contemplate them without any judgment. And then, let them go with a smile in your face.

The question is not "What do you want to do/be?". The question is " How much are you willing to pay? How many times are you willing to fall? How much pain are you willing to suffer?" These questions will tell you if you really want to do something or you are just flirting with the idea.

Always there’s something to be grateful for. Focus on what you have and be grateful for that. Try to change what you don’t have or accept it. Be grateful with people, life… everything. But don’t forget to be grateful with yourself, it is the most important one.

Do we smile because we are happy or are we happy because we smile? Think.

We are not what we think we are. We are not what the others think we are. We are what we think the others think we are.

It is not about what you do. It is about how you do it. When making a decision, it is not important which one do you choose because you don't know (no one knows) which is going to be the best decision in the end, we don't have enough data. The important is that once you have made this decision, trust on it as it was the only one.

Smiling is your most powerful weapon, try to use it appropriately and make the most out of it. You don’t know how much a smile can help the others and your own self.

Many small people doing small things in small places can do really huge things.

Books:
- This is it, Alan Watts
