About Me

[English after the break]
Hola viajeros de la vida! Adonde vamos?

Hello travelers of life! Where are we going? Where do we come from?
I am 37 years old, I was born in Argentina, in Rosario. After studying Hotel Management around age 20 I moved to United States, and between a few twists and turns in past years, some travel, and some moves around the US and Argentina, until July 2018 I found myself living in Oakland, California.
I came back to the US with the idea of working, gear up and get going on a bicycle touring trip, for an undetermined time.
My departure, August 2018, therefore I am not in the capacity to provide accommodation at the moment, but I sure hope I can in the future.
First destination, Iceland, taking it easy (and against the wind!) pedaling around island throughout the month to return to Reykjavic and leave for Dublin, Ireland during the first week of September. At the time of this writing, I have no plans for after my arrival in Dublin, only an the intention of tour through Northern Ireland, and maybe from there fly to continental Europe sometime most likely in September. Everything will depend on how I feel, how everything flows and of course, almost inevitably, how much my pocket is hurting. So if you're reading this during and after those dates, I hope I'm still safe and n better shape pedaling, on some road.
This is my first "serious" bike touring, of such duration ...and with unexpected destinations. I left without date or flight back. With little and no experience in bicycle touring, I'm head on for adventure and expansion.
After months of effort and work, I asked for a road. I travel alone, with my new Salsa Marrakesh 2017, Big Agnes CSHV2 Expedition tent, cooking equipment, some tools, spare parts and other accessories. Seeing what I keep and what not as I move. Pedaling with some food for the first days, then figuring it out on the way. Although I try not to eat meat, I do not stress much about it, I just try to eat healthy, and food that nourishes my being. I do not smoke cigarettes or drink sodas. I'm capable of enjoying some alcohol sometimes.
I consider myself somewhat open minded, but in constant search of expansion. I can be a very mellow and quiet person, and also outgoing and social.
Trying to keep in shape, doing exercise, discovering where I'm going and where I'm coming from.

Note: (For communication I use email and mostly Whatsapp, Signal or Telegram).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe its a great way to meet new people when traveling and when not, that share the same interests than me and introduce me to their ways of life.
I think that the chance of making a new friend is exciting and having sometimes an opportinuty for a place to stay, a meal or a warm shower around the world will make everyone's travels more real, possible and affordable.
Not only as an alternative for accomodation but also as a support in case of a need for help. To get to know the network and find ways to support the community.
I tour with and for love, wonder and exploration; to be where I haven't been before; for fitness and mainly to stop trying to try; to challenge time; to experience spontaneability, spontanuosly.
I tour independable, with my tent and equipement; with flexibility, yet some planning and precausions.

Interests

Walks, bike rides, astronomy, gardening and pretty much any OUTDOOR activity that get me in touch with nature.
I'm not a chef, but I like cooking and learning to do so.
I enjoy Philosophy.
I love music, I can easily enjoy going to a massive concerts, but love no less the small local shows; love to discover new bands and new instruments to play with. I also enjoy going to festivals, large or not so.
I love to talk, but I also appreciate silence very much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As an entrepreneur I'm amazed to say that I had my own hospitality business for a few years in Argentina, a Student Housing Residence, providing monthly housing to students I also set it up to receive travelers for short stays.
With the occasional help from friends and specially family, I cannot take full credit of such an wonderful experience. I'm proud to say that I started this business from scratch, grew into 3 different houses and became known in the universities housing enviroment.
I shut down after another financial crisis in Argentina, where insane inflation took place, rent prices increasing constantly and frustrations about running a business under such inestability.
Gladly moved to my next adventure and been around, working, exploring and traveling since.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share a table with people, go out for a walk, hikes, gatherings or simple a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. I'm glad to share my time with hosts, my annecdotes, experiences, give advice to the best of my knowledge and encourage them on their plan for adventure. Help them around their homes with whatever they may need, take care of their pets, etc. Should be always fun, safe and interesting.
