About Me
We are Marie and Santi, a fun-loving couple in our thirties from France and Spain. Marie brings the charm and a love for the high french cuisine, while Santi adds a dash of Spanish warmth and a passion for tortilla to the mix!
Our story began at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, both of us standing in awe before Picasso's masterpiece, Guernica. Amidst the profound strokes and historical echoes, our eyes met. We struck up a conversation about art, life, and debated whether the horse in the painting was actually a unicorn. That's the charming tale we tell our parents.
Reality check: We actually met in a dark techno nightclub at 3 a.m., where the only "profound strokes" were the DJ's beats, and our "conversation" was more like shouting random words over the music. But hey, every great story needs a little artistic flair, right?
Since then, we've embarked on an unforgettable journey together! The fact that we both work from home makes it easy for us to turn any place into our office. One day, we're working with the stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea on the tropical coast of Granada, picking mangoes and avocados from the trees. Another day, we're having a delicious croissant amidst the breathtaking beauty of the French Pyrenees in Pau, surrounded by majestic mountains.
When we're not working, you'll find us:
- Cooking up absolutely delicious dishes—Marie is definitely one of the most talented cooks you can meet, and Santi the best kitchen assistant.
- Embarking on road trips with our lovely camper van, Madame Chrysler Voyager, exploring new places and creating unforgettable memories.
- Moving to other countries to immerse ourselves in their language and culture—right now, we're fascinated with Italy, its beautiful language, and of course, the amazing food!
We're easygoing, respectful, and always up for a good laugh or a deep conversation over a glass of wine. We believe that the best way to experience a place is through its people, and that's why we're here on Couchsurfing.
What we can offer:
- Great company and interesting stories.
- A taste of French-Spanish fusion cooking (prepare your taste buds!).
- An exchange of cultures, languages, and maybe some dance moves.
We can't wait to meet fellow travelers and hosts who share our enthusiasm for life's adventures. Let's create some unforgettable memories together!
À bientôt! ¡Hasta pronto! See you soon!
