About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experience the wonders of our time
ABOUT ME
I have a German brain trained with United States education, and an Argentinean heart bleeding albiceleste.
My idol is the Doctor from the series Doctor Who because I am a traveling nerd with social skills (at least that's what my friends say...).
I enjoy discussing ideas and adventures (in a language of your choice) preferably over good food and drink. In my free time I like to go an adventures, which can be various things, including traveling to interesting places, hiking though the countryside, skydiving out of airplanes, or doing some funky science stuff.
I love both the city and the landscape because you can meet great people in both and I really love getting to know people from all different cultures. Both cities and nature are exciting when I travel and I like to get a good mix of both during my trips.
PHILOSOPHY
Geronimo!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host people in my apartment near UC Berkeley where I am studying for my PhD in Engineering (hard-core nerd stuff). I really like being near a university because there are so many things to do and learn. There is never a dull day in my neighborhood.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted lots of people visiting San Francisco and I have met many CSers throughout my travels. I really love this community and have made some great connections from my experiences in CS.
Interests
I am really passionate about renewable energy, both the science and the development aspect of it. If you want to learn more, you can check out my blog on the Berkeley homepage: http://blogs.berkeley.edu/author/smiret/

Roadtrip across the United States with my own shitty car
I have crossed from Russia to China on the Transsiberian railway with adventurous stops in Mongolia for some wildlife camping
I spent a week in North Korea where I learned the truth about everything. Feel free to ask me me anything about that :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Five Languages; Science and Engineering - Energy Technologies (another shameless plug for my blog: http://blogs.berkeley.edu/author/smiret/)
I am really good at barbecuing anything that comes to mind and can teach many random things that I have learned through random experiences.
