Overview
About Me
My husband, Trevor, and I decided to move to California after a layoff from my work. I’d never taken a road trip longer than 6 hours before until we got a U-Haul and moved all our stuff ourselves from Texas.
Along the way, we were able to couchsurf a week in Flagstaff, AZ. Flagstaff is beautiful and we even considered staying but the job market there is tough. Eventually we relocated to Sacramento and while applying and interviewing for work we’ve couchsurfed and stayed at reasonable AirBNBs. Ultimately, we were able to find work in San Rafael and we’re excited at finally settling down and getting our routine going again.
We’re easygoing and low key. During the week we tend to focus on work and take road trips on weekends. We do miss Austin and the Texas Hill Country but we’re extremely excited about exploring the Bay Area.
We always appreciate any recommendations on places to visit and we’re always up for meeting other couchsurfers along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having relocated to the Bay Area, Trevor and I don’t know many people and we’re looking to meet couchsurfers and just all around easygoing individuals with a passion for adventure. Living the day to day work life during the week is fine but on weekends we hope to meet people who just enjoy life.
Interests
Our main interests on weekends are road trips. Anything to get outdoors and experience nature. From hiking, to kayaking, exploring nearby towns or landmarks, to just tanning; we just enjoy the outdoors.
Checking out new restaurants and shops is a close second.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My husband and I decided to relocate from Austin, TX to California after I was laid off from work. I was working at a non-profit college and after both of us living most all our lives in Texas the move just seemed right. It’s been scary just relocating but mainly exciting at what new prospects our journey brings.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m always interested to learn something new. Relocating from Texas to California, there’s so much we don’t know about the Bay Area and we are always willing to consider any recommendations for places to visit.
I’m always willing to share recommendations on things to do and places to see in Texas and the Texas Hill Country.
