About Me

I'm a silly, lefty, person who values wholesomeness, playfulness but also no-bullshit attitude to life. Techy by trade and environmentalist by heart. Lover of sneaky camping, weird and touching music, slow food, bad puns, and philosophising over wine.

I’m back on Couchsurfing now after a long break and am keen to keep it as it was in the ‘good old days’ of the website. Using it to connect inspiring and fun souls, having the chance to see a slice of someone’s life and share bits of mine with others. You know, instead of using it just as a free accommodation or a hookup app. I mean, nothing wrong with wanting to travel cheaply or enjoying some spontaneous physical intimacy with someone you clicked super well, but those are only nice things that might or might not happen and not the reasons why you should be here. What’s up with all those thirsty men ruining the app?

Anyway, I’m rambling! If you’re writing with a request for hosting I'd appreciate if you included the word 'cauliflower' in your message, just so I know that you've put some effort into reading my profile and think we might actually get along (instead of just sending out copy-pasted spam).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had some really positive and valuable experiences with people I met when traveling through couchsurfing and WarmShowers (couchsurfing for bicycle touring). I want other people also to be able to experience my home city from a local's eyes, in the local community. If you are looking for a just a free hostel then I'll probably not be able to help you.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Books (the band), Moulettes, La Femme, Onda Vaga, Stills Crosby & Nash Alt-J, a bunch of 20th/21st century classical music, soul, americana-folky stuff...

I like Neil Gaiman a lot. Also enjoyed Dan Simmons' Hyperion Cantos, and more recently Man In the High Castle by Philip K. Dick. My very favourite writer is Jacek Dukaj but sadly he writes in Polish and there is no English translations of his stuff (hmmmm... maybe I should work on that).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation. Silly conversation. Together we can figure out how to save the world. But probably also get really distracted with silliness and random adventures in the process. You know, the usual stuff.

I'll cook food for you. Have you had cheese and potato pierogi yet? No? Well, that has to change, innit.
