Hello! I’m Saori, originally from Saitama, Japan, and I’m currently traveling in Australia. I’m really enjoying the pleasant weather, the breathtaking nature, and the friendly people I’ve met so far. I’ve been passionate about music since I was young and used to play an instrument, although I don’t perform anymore. However, my love for music, entertainment, and the arts is still very much alive. I’m also studying English, and meeting amazing people from around the world has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It constantly opens my mind to new discoveries and perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was inspired to join Couchsurfing by a colleague of mine who has friends all over the world. I’ve always admired how she can visit different countries and feel at home because of the friendships she’s built along the way. I believe this experience truly enriches life, and I would love to create similar connections. I’ve also had the privilege of staying with host families through homestay programs in the past, so now I want to give back and share that same kindness with others through this platform.

Interests

I have a deep love for music, whether it’s listening to my favorite tunes or going to live concerts to experience the energy firsthand. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring both the city and nature on foot. Walking helps me clear my mind and appreciate the beauty of my surroundings, whether it’s a bustling city street or a peaceful park. Music and walking are two of my favorite ways to relax and connect with the world around me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to a wide range of music, from Western pop and jazz to various other genres. I’ve also been a fan of K-pop since I was young, and it’s still something I enjoy listening to. As for books, I’m currently reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and Atomic Habits by James Clear. I’m trying to build a regular reading habit, so I’m always on the lookout for good books to keep me inspired. I don’t watch movies often, but I’d love to hear your recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While I’ve had the chance to travel to many different countries and I’m always seeking new experiences and passions, I feel like there’s still so much more I want to achieve. My travels have sparked a desire in me to not just visit new places but to accomplish something meaningful along the way. I’m excited to keep exploring the world and hope to one day reflect on a journey that has made a lasting impact.

As a native Japanese speaker, I’d be a great language exchange partner for anyone learning Japanese. I’d be happy to share not only the language but also Japanese culture and traditions. I’ve been studying English for about eight years, and while I now use English at work, I still feel I have a lot of room to improve. I’m always eager to practice more, so I’d love to enjoy conversations that help me continue to grow in fluency. Let’s learn from each other and have fun along the way!
