About Me

I am a radical, homeschooling mother of two teens who is busily starting a new FEC (thefec.org) community in the mountains of Virginia, where we hope to build the community around agriculture, simple living & the Appalachian Trail.

I have lived many lives and I am happy to have settled into an agrarian life. I *have* to be outside & connected to the land or I go crazy (er?). I believe that life is best balanced by spending my time actively building a world that values relationship with all living beings while deconstructing the oppressive, top-down hierarchical structures currently imposed on us. I share my passions with my children (ages 13 & 17).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am hoping to bring more awareness to our project as well as build up a network of folks with whom we can stay with when we travel for our agricultural conferences.

Music: Yes. Lots of it, except shitty pop music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I graduated magna cum laude in my major from Virginia Tech with both of my children under the age of five.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have lots of different life experiences that I could share and teach about: science, seed saving, herbalism, homeschooling/unschooling, community building, etc.

I would love to learn more about various resource sharing modalities, community building and social justice movements.
