About Me

A pretty embarrassing Italian tech professional always running away to discover new places, eventually getting lost in the middle of nowhere, annoying people and emptying fridges around the world (in 46 countries so far). My life turns around people, life experiences and.. carbohydrates. But you’d never say that from my references I guess. ( @sara.giardino_ on ig if you wanna stalk me to know if I’m at least partially normal. No judges about the food.)

Currently in Barcelona 📍Unfortunately guys I’m not able to host anyone at the current time so please just hangout requests

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Finished friends to visit and to bring with me spending money in travels and food, but still looking forward discovering the world with some travel mates. Talking seriously for one second, I really believe that travelling is one of the best things a person can be lucky enough to do in his life. In one of my last journeys I’ve been moving along Indonesia, meeting locals and travelers to share with what became the experience of my life. They became a family in a place that had nothing to do with what I was used to call “home”. I can’t even imagine to stop experiencing something similar again. I want to discover new places, new cultures, new habits. Riding a horse in Valle Vinales, surfing along the coasts of Portugal or even just walking downstairs in the morning for pain au chocolate, going out from a tiny flat between a long line of those colored and alarming ordered Norman houses. And yea as much as I love pain au chocolate, what better way to have it while getting fat with someone else. Damn, I’ve written too much.

Music, Movies, and Books

Those kind of songs you listen to while driving a car in the middle of nowhere (Mumford & Sons)
Those kind of movies you normally think about for the next 2 months after watching them, still without understanding any shit.
Those kind of books that have a proper story and don’t just talk about the meaning of life. Food is the meaning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taken a 2h flight after a 4h journey at lunch time to reach Naples and eat 7 pizzas plus things not good for diet and come back at midnight. Had dinner once reached home again.

Well, I’ve also been hiking an erupting Indonesian vulcano, been swimming with Thai sharks at 6:00 in what I believe could be considered as an attempt to my life, climbed a Mexican mountain during night and got stuck on a boat in Congo, for 14 hours , with no working engine but goods, people and animals, more or less alive. Ok, I’ve risked my life more times than expected if this sounds more impressive than the pizza tour.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not really sure about what should I write here, but I can cook pretty good lasagna and willing to know many languages.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m quite funny I swear. Can cook if that’s not enough.
