About Me
I'm a Portlander now, former Chicagoan. Truly. I used to eat so many Italian beef sandwiches but have traded them in for kale and pork belly. Still love beef sandwiches, but I just can't do that food coma on the regular like I used to.
I LOVE hiking, and do it quite a lot. Just started backpacking and mountaineering, also liking that way to spend my time!
For the last couple of years, I've also been keen on the tech/nonprofit scene up in the great Pacific Northwest and have met many amazing people and learned so much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Staying with people who live where you are just seeing for the first time is just so much nicer. It can be a little intimidating and exciting being in a new place. I hope to meet new friends, and get to find the magic places in cities I go, with the help of a host.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love indie rock, folk, punk folk, alternative (when that was a thing), and basically anything with accordion or trumpets.
Reading is lovely, but since I've moved to Portland I have to sadly admit I traded my reading time (long train commutes) for biking time. I love books with complicated plots, mysteries, rich characters (who have something at stake!), that explore alternative realities.
I grew up watching certain movies over and over (remember VHS collections?!), like Jurassic Park, Silence of the Lambs, Romeo + Juliet (with Leo and Clare), What About Bob?, and the Monty Python movies. What breadth of taste, huh? :) Today I really like psychological thrillers, some fantasy, and am really digging/horrified by the zombie movie trend.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked to the top of Mount Adams at over 12,000 feet in Washington state!
