About Me

I am portuguese, with dutch and egyption ascendence!
I am very talkative, maybe even too much, but it's always exciting to come across other people who are as willing as I am to share a bit of their life experience. My hometown is Coimbra, the student city - actually, the students are pretty much the only reason why we still exist.
I've been getting into the habit of hitchicking to places and my goal here is to go anywhere my thumb can get me into.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing seems to me not only as a place where people can go to sleep, but potentially make some great friends along the way. Because if you visit a city you know nothing about and you follow tourist guides, you'll only get what every other tourist is getting. Travelling for real is letting your mind wander, talk with people from that region and coming back home with some great stories to talk about.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some music I enjoy-
Brand New, La Dispute, Crystal Castles, PORTUGUESE HIP HOP, Jeff Buckley, Iamx, Bjork, Portishead, etc...

Some films I love-
Mysterious Skin, Leon the professional, The Prestige, Medianeras, A Serious Man, Hard Candy, etc...

Can't quite pick favourite books. That's just too hard.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhick my way in the mountains to meet friends miles away. Make about as many friends as the ones awaiting me along the way... and restoring my faith in humanity during that trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've got lots of insight on my city's history and current status - I've lived it, for god's sake. Coimbra's history has so many layers to it, especially when it comes to the students, there are so many things being said... I think I can help.
I love learning about other places aswell.
