About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel as much as possible, get to know cool people, new cultures, new languages, try find my "niche" and in the meantime have a lot of amazing experiences all around the world!!
ABOUT ME
After five years abroad I'm back in Ireland! And back to studies! This time a Masters in Tourism Management, which seems fitting given my love of travel:)
I spent 7 months last year travelling South America and before that I worked as an English teacher in San Sebastian, the Basque Country, Spain for three years. It's an outstandingly beautiful place and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, but it was time for me to spread my wings again! Before that I worked for one year in Amsterdam with Tourism Ireland, promoting Ireland as a holiday destination (something I still recommend of course;).
Generally in life I seem to kind of float from one thing to the next as have no idea what I really want to do, so I take 'baby' grown up steps in the form of lots of little "mini plans" which I regularly change! ;) ... but so far I've been lucky and am enjoying the "discovery journey" very much!!
I am a ridiculously indecisive person but that´s mainly because I am so easy going and enjoy trying most things! I LOVE trying new foods and any extreme sports to do with heights! Give me a bit of an adrenaline rush! I also enjoy water sports very much, though I never quite have the discipline to practice as much as I should.
What else... I don´t know really, I love to travel and plan on doing a lot of it... I think couch surfing is an amazing way to meet new people from the area you´re visiting. To get to know somewhere with someone who knows it is so much more special:) I was only able to do a little hosting in San Sebastian, but met some great people, and I hope to continue meeting more as I continue travelling this year! :)
PHILOSOPHY
What will be will be... never turn down an opportunity- just GO FOR IT!! Nearly every experience is worth something! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Game of thrones, Ken Follet- massive bricks of books which keep you engaged from start to finish... the perfect beach or bus accompaniment! Harry Potter (books only!!) Lord of the Rings, A thousand splendid suns, The Kite Runner, anything set in the past- I´m a sucker for period dramas, kings and queens!
Music... I hate this question because I feel like such a loser when I say I like most types of music... but its TRUE!!! I love to dance so anything that facilitates that I enjoy... whether it be reggae, dance, salsa, pop, rock, swing, jazz!! (sorry to all you music gurus out there! ;) What makes me always really very happy though is when I hear jazz musicians playing on the street... I LOVE it when you´re walking down the street and you see a group playing away- they always seem to be having so much fun playing together and it puts me in a good mood without fail! :) Don´t you agree?!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen such wonderful places it's hard to pick one thing that especially stands out above the rest. Probably climbing Mt Kinabalu in Borneo, or doing the W -trek in Torres del Paine are highest on the list at the moment. Such spectacular scenery! Also Perito Moreno is simply spectacular... nature is such an amazing thing!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help you with your English and share experiences I've had in different places. I love hearing about other people´s adventures and hopes and dreams. They inspire me too! And there is no better way to do it than over a hearty meal! I love learning new recipes and ways to cook things. The food I make tends to be tasty... though I must confess I'm more of a "throw all together and it will be grand" type of cook rather than a meticulous recipe follower!
