About Me

I am a world citizen. That's how my mum describes me. She says "(un)fortunately I have to share you with the world". And it's true.

I like to visit big cities but i will always end up living in the small countryside places. I like to be able to walk in the fields on a sunny sunday afternoon or light a bonfire at night. I enjoy places where people say HI to each other on the street and benches in really high hills where you can sit down and take in all the beauty of the landscape.

I love to have a dream and make it happen. That's what I am all about: I dream about doing something, I plan it, it happens. I don't believe in "I wish". Want something? Go for it! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Growing up my parents had an open house that welcomed everyone. I grew up surrounded by a lot of different cultures. It's great to be involved in an organized community that shares the same passion.

Interests

I love to do all sorts of fun things in nature. Going for a swim, paddle a kayak on some nice bay, hike a mount, star gazing, go and watch some whales (Oh NZ, you are magnificent!).

I love to make people feel relaxed in my house and the best guests are the ones that after a few hours you feel like you have known forever. They are also the "worst" ones to say goodbye too. You just wish they lived in your town so you could always hang out. Same happens when I'm travelling and I meet some nice hosts.

I have hosted someone on CS that fell in love with a friend of mine that I had over for dinner that day. 6 years on and it's still going :) Needless to say he's the one CSurfer I see more often.
(Don't worry, I do mention it countless times to them that is was because of me that they met.)

Music, Movies, and Books

It's a hard question. I always have a new favourite one.
I will have t say that my favourite movie genre is Documentaries. Specially the ones by Louis Theroux. I am a bit obsessed about his work.

Books... heaps. Can't choose one. Depends on the mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm sorry, it will be more than one:

-Chose a random country to move into !! WOHOOO! NZ Here we are :) We have been doing some pretty amazing roadtrips here too!

- I lived and volunteered in Taizé (a monastery) for 3 months. I got to live with 80 girls from 15 different countries, all in one house and learn beautiful things with all of them.

- A 1500km car roadtrip around Portugal mainly driving through the N2 (The longest national road in Portugal). Me and 2 other friends, only spent money in food and fuel and stayed with either couchsurfers or people we met on the street .

-Cycled around Cornwall for a week with nothing but good company, a tent and few things more. Couchsurfed and met a lot of nice people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Portuguese, I can help you with your arts and crafts projects, I can help you build some pallets furniture from all those Pinterest images you have been collecting but never got around to make.
