About Me
CURRENT MISSION
RTW -trip begins 2/2013!
ABOUT ME
I'm a 23-year-old student from southern Finland. After graduation from the Varala Sports Institute, I plan to carry out my long-term plan of traveling around the globe and exploring the remotest corners of this world. I'm hoping to set off together with a single friend (if no one signs up for the post, I guess I'll have to depart alone.. I'm guessing it won't take too long for me to make friends as I travel along, I'm quite the extrovert:) and experience the world in the course of 10 months, starting - most likely - in early-February 2013.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
They're all still ahead!
Interests
Obviously traveling, getting to know new people and new cultures. I also love cooking and tasting new dishes! I am obsessed with sports and on top of instructing all sorts of aerobics/ spinning etc. classes at work I love to go jogging in the forests near where my parents live. I enjoy tasty food, good wines and in-depth (or sometimes more shallow:) conversations with my friends. I'm also quite of a movie geek!

Music, Movies, and Books
The Lord of the Rings trilogy is an absolute classic! I simply love that story. My favorite actors include Johnny Depp and Julia Roberts.. I've probably seen 98% of Depp's movies; Sweeney Todd, Pirates of the Caribbean, Blow, Edward Scissorhands, Finding Neverland, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Ed Wood - just to name a couple of my all-time favorites.
Many of Quentin Tarantino's films are my absolute favorites as well, among them e.g. Kill Bill I & II, Jackie Brown, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds..
On another note, Pretty Woman and Notting Hill, of course, are such movies that one can never watch too often :) Oh and I've got to mention at least Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, Amelié, Knocked Up, and Little Miss Sunshine as well!
Overall, I must say there are far too many great movies to be listed here - sometimes collapsing on the couch with a bag of candy and a good movie is a much better alternative than going out clubbing!
As for books, I have always liked the Harry Potter series (so much better than the movies, by the way) and have read them in Finnish and a couple of times in English as well. I also like Dan Brown's books, e.g. the Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, and Digital Fortress. Since I loved the LotR trilogy as a movie, I've of course read the books, too - absolutely fabolous!
Additionally, some random books I've enjoyed very much in the span of my lifetime include; the Devil Wears Prada (Lauren Weisberger), Anne Frank's diary (Anne Frank), Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), Little Women (Louisa M Alcott), the Hitch hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams), Lord of the Flies (William Golding).. now I'm flipping through "1000 places to see before you die" by Patricia Schultz. Pretty mind-opening and inspiring I must say :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. The Iguazu Falls on the border of Brazilian State Paraná and Argentine Province Misiones. Probably the best winter holiday and Christmas ever!
2. Our grandparents' summer cottage in Sysmä, Finland. The best place to spend your summer holidays when in need of pure relaxation and serenity. Love it.
