About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the world a little better place... by being a really really great host for now... :)

ABOUT ME

I’m married, and have 5 step kids part time. My husband’s profile is Anthony DeNovellis: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2007819152?utm_campaign=profile_share&utm_source=couchsurfing-ios

I love all forms of art, and was a fine arts major for 4 years. Graduated in Liberal Arts, because I took so many language, interior design, architecture and art history classes. I LOVE to travel, and will go anywhere I can whenever I can. I also LOVE to dance... particularly West Coast Swing, but I love all kinds of social, ballroom and Latin dancing as well (Cha-cha, swing, lindy, Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, etc.). I enjoy hiking when I can (I'm a 5-miler kind of hiker, not the "let's climb Mount Rainier tomorrow for fun" kind of hiker). I love learning about other cultures, languages, religion, food, etc. I generally try to stay out of political debates, as I really prefer the share and learn mentality instead of argument for argument sake.

I LOVE Couch Surfing, and have loved hosting. I haven't yet been able to do as much surfing as I’d like to, but hope to get out and see the world and crash with some new friends sometime. I love learning about other people, places, cultures, food.

PHILOSOPHY

"We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us, and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." - Maryanne Williamson

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, not much as my current situation does not really make it feasible... but in the past, it's been host, host, host, and surf when I have enough money to travel... and the occasional potluck or get together when I could make it!!

One year, I hosted 189 Couch Surfers from 26 countries in only 4 months. I hope that one day (in the not so distant future) I can plan a trip around the world, and surf with all these amazing people who have stayed with me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted lots in Seattle, and hosted quite a few when I lived in Richmond, VA. I've surfed in Boise, ID; Denver, CO; Vancouver, BC; Portland, OR; Kansas City, KS; Scottsdale, AZ; St Louis, MO; and Brussels, Belgium.

I LOVE COUCHSURFING and recommend it to anyone, whether you're hosting, surfing, or just looking for a really great community of people!!!

I love growing our family of CouchSurfers! We are all members of the human family, and we should take part in learning about all the wonderful cultural differences this world has to offer.

Interests

Art, Movies, History, Architecture, Interior Design, Photography, Books, Travel, Languages, Ballroom Dancing (Swing, Salsa, Cha Cha, Waltz, West Coast, Lindy, etc.). I also love to Knit and Crochet, and am happy to share and/or teach knitting or crocheting as well!

I also do Henna (temporary tattoos), and cut hair for the men in my life. So, free henna tattoos and haircuts (for guys) by request.

It has always been a dream of mine to learn how to speak as many different languages as possible. I can count to 10 in 13 languages, and I'm now studying 8 different languages on Duolingo! Come, teach , practice, cook, and get to know me! :) I'm happy to do the same for you!
