About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy life!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the great state of Kansas, in Wichita. I have traveled throughout Europe and Asia, and lived for a year in South Korea.

I'm an avid runner and hiker, a food and drink enthusiast, and an art-music-literature-culture-in-general junkie. My personality can probably be best described as easygoing and open-minded, though maybe a bit introverted. I've always had a passion for learning about other places and cultures, and Couchsurfing has been a great way to meet new people and indulge that interest.

PHILOSOPHY

"I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to put to rout all that was not life and not, when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived."-Henry David Thoreau

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted and stayed with others in the past, all of which were positive and enjoyable experiences. I also enjoy meeting and chatting with other CS folks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted three times now, and have met other couchsurfers when I traveled to San Francisco and Korea. I also surfed in Korea ,Japan, and the USA.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? I worked at a summer camp in the Colorado Rockies. I hiked across lush green mountains in South Korea. I took in the view of the Golden Gate Bridge from across the San Francisco Bay. Sushi at the fish market in Tokyo. Marveling at masterpieces in the Louvre. Too many to list.

Teach, Learn, Share

This is the section that makes me scratch my head. I guess the best piece of travel advice I could give is to get out of your comfort zone. This, coming from a girl who appreciates few things more than a hot shower. :) But, I do believe that part of experiencing another culture is to accept the fact that other people do things differently. That, and visit at least one museum wherever you go, if you can. Take every available avenue to learn about the people you are visiting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, and I'm pretty good at making conversation.
