Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love couch surfing! What a great way to make friends and expand our network of relations. I also value the sharing-economy aspect of couch surfing. So much is possible when we step out of the consumer markets. Hurray!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only stayed with and hosted a few people so far, but I now count all of these folks as friends, and am still in touch with most of them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
First moments of the Elwha dam removal... from the air!
Teach, Learn, Share
In school I studied how the Earth works, eventually focusing on seafloor hydrothermal vent systems in the Pacific Ocean. After grad school I was blessed to start up a fantastic watershed education and restoration non-profit organization:

After five years running Once Upon a Watershed I felt the tidal pull of the Pacific Northwest. I now work as Environmental Monitoring Coordinator for the City of Bellingham and am fortunate to call B'ham my home.
