Resumen
Sobre mí
I grew up in Niagara Falls and slowly moved around Lake Ontario, settling in Toronto about 20 years ago after brief stays in Hamilton, Burlington and Mississauga. My schooling was in architecture but I left that industry after a few years because my workaholic tendencies were not leading to a healthy life. I'm currently an exam coordinator, working to help internationally educated medical professionals prove that they can safely practice in Canada.
Living downtown, we don't own a car or bikes, but enjoy having access to Toronto Bike Share and an extensive transit system that allows us to get around easily. My hobbies are mostly indoor, but I try to go for walks around the city regularly and even enjoy the weather when it's not too sunny, too warm or too cold. I also love driving and take any opportunity to rent a car with Communauto or Enterprise CarShare for a day trip.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
My introduction to this project came when I couchsurfed with 4 different hosts in north-eastern US cities during a road trip in Sept. 2009. I had a great time and met so many interesting people that I was excited about re-paying that hospitality when I returned home!
My previous apartments had a second bedroom and more privacy so we don't host much anymore, but we're still open to having occasional guests that align with our schedules and hobbies. Additionally, my partner and I are looking to start travelling ourselves again and would be happy to offer a place to stay for some travellers when we're out of town!
Intereses
Most of my spare time is spent playing boardgames. We play at least a few times per week and our favourites tend to be mid-weight competitive games with low player interaction, for example Ark Nova and Sagrada. We have a collection of over 100 games that guests are welcome to try out and I also organize a local gaming event that draws about 40 people every week.

Algo increíble que he hecho
I designed and built a 27 storey condo building by working for the architect during the design and development then working for the developer during the construction phases.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I am always happy to teach the boardgames I love to anyone. There is a wide variety of lengths, complexities and themes available and I really believe that there is something that would suit anyone. These games are a great social activity that can accommodate people from different backgrounds and abilities while encouraging communication, team work, planning, problem solving and friendly competition.
