About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To boldly go where millions have gone before, but to see it for the first time in my own way
ABOUT ME
I am constantly exploring and falling in love with the world as I discover it.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe the beatles, no matter how cliche, that all you need is love, but perhaps the french have the right idea with "l'amour et l'eau frais" (love and fresh water). Love may quench the soul, but you can't ignore the body.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am eager to explore and experience the world, and my favorite way of doing that is with others. I couch surf and I host. Sharing stories is really what I love, as it allows me to experience a bit more through someone else's adventures. I love showing people around and making sure everyone leaves loving my home town as much as I do.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with a wonderful host in Amsterdam and I've hosted many wonderful travelers. I hope to make many more "couch surfing friends" as I continue to travel. I have stayed with friends that I've made along the way throughout many of my travels, and it always turns out to be, at the least, interesting, if not amazing. The best part of traveling is the people you meet, and this site is a wonderful idea for promoting this side of traveling!
Interests
Art, painting, drawing, printmaking, music, friends... there's so much. Travel, of course, and language. Studying french has led me to Paris, I think I'll go on to Spanish next, or Russian, or German, or Thai... there's so many to choose from and each language offers it's own different view of the world, I only wish I had more time.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Anything that makes me laugh or cry, no matter how stupid or silly it may seem to others, and plain good movies like The Princess Bride, Pan's Labyrinth, Hero, and one of my personal favorites (for the sole reason that it DOES exist) A life less Ordinary.
Music: Everything except exceptionally angry metal and exceptionally whiney emo. And I mean everything, alternative, rock, classical, pop, oldies and even the cheesiest of country. I was raised by a music professor dad and a pop culture, middle American mom, so anything goes on this front.
Books: I haven't been reading much since I started working and going to school, but my childhood classic would be the "His Dark Materials" trilogy by Philip Pullman. Love Douglas Adams, Bill Bryson is my hero, Jane Austen makes me talk funny for days on end (or should I say "speak in a highly unusual manner") when I do get into one of her books, went on a Palahniuk binge for a bit (Lullaby was my favorite), and will basically pick up anything with words that is within the vicinity (this includes newspapers and magazines in languages I don't even speak).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing the stars over lake Titicaca, sunrises over the mediterranean, the kindness of strangers in surprising situations, the world is constantly amazing me in so many ways...
Teach, Learn, Share
I am open to learning just about anything, really. I can teach... folding oragami cranes? English? How to make brownies from a box? I'm not really sure, but I'm sure I've got some pass-on-able skills.
