CURRENT MISSION

Moving slowly through the Americas over the course of 2016, hopefully with the result of actually experiencing some of the places. So far with decent, though not 100%, success. I try to narrate the travels and share what I think is shareable on this blog http://www.sottovoices.com/, shared equally between me and my travel/life buddy Otto.

It's interesting to be technically without a home for a year - my stuff is in several places (Prague, London, Germany, my backpack in South America), but I don't pay rent or have a nest of my own in any way now. It's a pretty deep experience, but I'm also seriously looking forward to sleeping in the same bed for more than three nights in a row! And of course to having a couch to host people on.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have co-provided a CS home for a bunch of lovely people and I've had some brilliant experiences as a guest, too - I'm always amazed at how much color and taste a place suddenly gets when you can connect to it through someone who lives it every day.

I like to imagine a world where our interaction revolves around our presence, personality, conversation and skills, instead of money and all the calculation and suspicion that too often comes with it. CS, at least in its ideal form, brings that to life.
