ABOUT ME

My name is Sara, I'm 22 years old and I live in Marino, a small town in Castelli Romani, near Rome, Italy. I have a scientific school-leaving certificate and now I'm attending "La Sapienza", the main university in Rome. My Bachelor degree course is about sciences applied to conservation of a work of art. I love science, in particular chemistry and I would like to learn how to restore paintings, statues and old buildings.

I created this profile because I love travelling and I would like to learn as much as possible about cultures from all over the world. I am very interested in living with someone and discovering other life styles.

I can't host because I live with my parents, I'm so sorry for you because I can't give you a place to stay and you can't know something about my family and our lifestyle. I'm sorry also for me because I think that if you can live with someone, you always can learn something new and will become richer.

I spend the most of my week in Rome and I would love to show you around, help you with public transportation. I can pick you up at the airport, I don't have driver license but I know the cheapest way to Rome. I would like to meet and know you as much as I can.

Don't think I want a free place to stay, I want to visit your city and know you. Share our cultures, spend time together and help you in the house will make me happy. I think that CS is an exchange and I would love to give you something back.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I can't host, but I want to be an active member and join the meetings and events in Rome and where I'm traveling.

I would love to hang out with you, visit the city, the main monuments, museums, avenues for shopping :D We can eat together some Italian typical dishes. I can help you with the public transportation's tickets, suggest you the perfect stop and way in order to go somewhere.
I would love to show you Rome if you were a citizen and not like a tourist. I think it is the best for you :D
We can have a lot of conversations about our passions, and I hope that you have some similar to mine.

Interessi

Arts:I love any kind of art and I try to concentrate my efforts on that. I spend a lot of my time visiting museums, I'm attracted by Romantic paintings and I like 19th century art too. I love getting lost in the work of art while I'm looking at it.

Literature : my favorite writer is James Joyce, it is a strange choice but my mind works like "Ulysses". I like Oscar Wilde for his masterpiece "A Portrait of Dorian Gray", I love how he wrote and how the reader can be surrounded by the story.

Cooking: it is a kind of art for me, because make a dish is something magic. I love Italian food but I always eat foreign dishes.

Crime:My passion is reflected in TV series, movies and yellow books. I like all what is macabre and I would to like to understand killers' mind.

Painting, Drawing and writing: I am a creative person and I love express myself with artistic things.

Colors: I love them.. and I think that they are very important for my life. I love also the pigments and learn as much as possible from the origin until they are used to paint and their degradation.

Chemistry: I love the process during a reaction, what you can do when you mix two substances. I would like to study more about the chemical methods in order to restore paintings and frescos. I love it because it is the modern alchemy.

Musica, film e libri

Music: I love listening to the music, I think that everywhere I am I need to listen to something, like a soundtrack of my life.
My favorite bands are: Evanescence, Halestorm, 30 seconds to mars, Avantasia, Haggard. But I usually listen to Pop music, J-pop and Disney soundtracks.
Anyway the most of my time I listen to the music in base of my mood.

Movies: I love any genre of movies but my favorites are 4 movies and I think that them reflect who I am.

Inception(2010): it's my first movie, I love it because it is about the labyrinth of the mind and the power of the dream. I love the settings because they have used some Escher's works about the impossible architectures in order to build an house in a mind.

Big fish(2003): it is about the contrast with realty and imagination. Sometimes is very hard to distinguish them. It is like this when you have something in your mind and you can't believe that it is only a fruit of your imagination because it seems so real.

I love these two movies because I'm a big dreamer and I love lose myself in thoughts, moments, memories or just looking at a painting and focus myself on details, because them make all special.

Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001): this is the story of my life and my dream's side. I reflect myself in the description of a Renoir's painting "Le déjeuner des canotiers" when the glass man is talking about the woman who is drinking water.

The Legend of 1900 (1998): I love this movie because I love stories with flashback and the interior narrator. At first I have liked the novel and after the movie. I think that do and fight for what do you love is the best thing that you can do. 1900 loves his boat and plays for the people.. and while he is playing his mind runs between the people's thoughts and lives.
I'm always a dreamer.

But I love watching a lot of other movies :D
I also love watching TV series and my favorites are:

Books: Reading is very important for me.
I love the classical novels, yellow books, fantasy sagas, books about artists and Japanese manga.

My favorite book is "The Truth about Harry Quebert Affair" by Joël Dicker. The story is wonderful.. but I love the emotion that you can fell while you are reading. Sometimes you are worried about Nola, sometimes you are falling in love with her, sometimes you can be angry with Harry.. but the most of the time you are crying for Nola. I'm very sensitive and I think that I'm a deep girl.. and I was in the book and I felt their emotions. I love reading and the meantime feeling the emotions. I have a Romantic view of the world.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

One of the most amazing thing that I have done is make a fresco on three big walls and it is about the last judgment. It is amazing because I can learn the work behind of an art work from the drawing to use the pigments through the making of the lime.

I would love to teach cooking, I love do it and you can make a special dishes. I would like to learn your dishes, and I'm improving my English and I'm looking for someone who I can talk with. What about share? I can share my knowledge and my passions.
