About Me

***Please be sure to read all of my profile, including the "my home" section. I get a lot of requests and I try to answer all of them, but sometimes I just don't have the time to answer right away. I really appreciate personal messages from surfers and I tend to decline requests with "copy / paste" messages sent to every host. (Try to convince me that you're not just looking for a free hotel/airbnb). Thanks, can't wait to meet you!

*****

Hi, I'm Sarah! I'm originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia but I moved to Quebec in 2013. I'm sous chef at a really wonderful restaurant. I finished culinary school in August 2016 and I've been loving life (even more) ever since. I did an apprenticeship in Nice, France last summer in a four star hotel restaurant and I was lucky enough to travel quite a bit during my time in Europe afterwards. I only had one couchsurfing experience, in Amsterdam. It's something I wish I had done more, that's why I'm open to meet courchsurfers now! Other than that, I'm highly curious and love new experiences. I'm almost always willing to embark on spontaneous adventures. I'm easy going and connect easily with people who are sincere, kind and open minded. In fact, one of my favourite activities (after sharing a meal with someone) is having a good laugh and a long conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to meet some special people and learn all about different cultures.

Interests

Cooking, baking, reading, art, writing, exploring, adventures, biking, hiking, longboard, travelling, music, culture, psychology, nature and more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music.... Mainly rock, folk, oldies, jazz, funk, local/Canadian music and much more. (To name a few, Joel Plaskett, RHCP, Buck 65, Nirvana, The Beatles, The Doors, Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, Ratatat...)

Books, mainly biographies and non-fiction, cookbooks, history books.

Movies, cult classics, Tarantino....I'm up for anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacking through Europe was pretty great!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook something. I'd love to improve my guitar skills or learn about some of your local products and specialities. I will gladly share a home made meal and a good beer or some wine with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A meal cooked by me if I've got the time. A comfortable and safe place to sleep. My company. Good conversation.
