About Me

I've just returned home from completing Peace Corps service in Jordan. Peace Corps has definitely sparked a love of travel and a desire to see the world. I'm currently in the process of applying to medical school but I have a year before I (hopefully) matriculate so I'm looking to get as much traveling in as I possibly can on a budget! I enjoy meeting new people, hiking, rock climbing, yoga, spending time with my family, cooking, watching movies, exploring new places, dancing and learning new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I absolutely love traveling but I'm on a budget. I love meeting new people and I'm quite social so I figured Couchsurfing was a great way to go.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste in music. I don't have a very strong opinion about music, generally speaking, and I don't have a particular genre I always enjoy or always dislike.

In regards to movies, I enjoy documentaries, comedy, action films, adventure films, historical fiction, realistic fiction, sci-fi and fantasy. I often find scary movies either downright terrifying or just not entertaining so a scary movie isn't ever my first choice.

I love reading. I mostly enjoy reading non-fiction, historical fiction, realistic fiction and sci-fi. I used to be quite the fan of fantasy books but I haven't been introduced to a fantasy novel/series for quite some time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done is the Peace Corps in Jordan. It was the first time I had ever left home and the first time I left my family but I had such a great time. Peace Corps was a great formative experience in my life. I learned so much about myself and I uncovered my passion for traveling. I also met my husband who was a fellow Peace Corps volunteer! I've learned how to speak numerous dialects of Arabic along with how to cook lots of Mediterranean meals.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning and I am willing to learn just about anything. I find that I learn a lot from people.

I can teach how to cook healthier versions of meals in addition to many Mediterranean dishes. I'm willing to teach yoga, Arabic and English.

I am open to sharing my life experience :)
