About Me
Hi! I'm an American linguist living in Ireland for a year of travel and adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel and meet people who like spending time with travelers! I am always up to go see something new or do something fun in a place I've never been.
I haven't been to many countries, but the US is just as big as Europe and I've been all over it. Here's a list of all the states I've been to that I can remember: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C.
Interests
Backpacking, cooking, reading, movies, concerts, hiking, DIY projects, riding around on a pair of roller skates, listening to talk radio, live comedy, wine, cats

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I love the movie and soundtrack of the Big Chill. My favorite song is "America" by Simon and Garfunkel.
I have a serious obsession with Game of Thrones. Read the books, watched the show, scrolled through the forums. Can't wait for July 16!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumped onto a moving train headed towards New Dehli!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach people about language! Back in the States I tutored teenagers and adults in reading, writing, and math. If my degree is worth anything then I can (in theory) teach you about how humans acquire and use language.
I think I'm a terrible cook but I put a lot of soul into my efforts. I'd be happy to make you anything within reason.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share fun facts about your language! And philosophical thought experiments about morality! If you give me some notice ahead of time I can also try to teach you to speak in a different accent. I also like to sing along to songs on the radio so I can offer my condolences for the fact that you'll have to listen to that.
