Hi! I'm Sarah Chellis. I make eye patches for a living, and I just got married! My guy is Jesse Harwin, and he will most likely be doing all traveling and hosting with me, so this is kind of a profile for both of us in a sense. We are both very friendly, warm people, who enjoy making new friends and having new experiences. We love cartoons, and have an adorable cat named BMO.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally joined couchsurfing because we had a roommate who turned us on to it and we even hosted some people and had a blast! Everyone we had over was really cool to get to know. Now I'm back on because we plan on going on a roadtrip for our honeymoon, and are hoping to surf couches along the way so we can afford to go as far as we would like to go. After the honeymoon, we really want to host people again. This is such a great community!

I like to joke that I have "approximate knowledge of everything" because I have jumped from one thing to the next, especially if it is some form of craft. Basically, I'll try *most* things once.

Music, Movies, and Books

I could go on forever with movies. I have a degree in film because I love movies so much. Mostly I'm obsessed with horror movies, Eyes without a Face, Deep Red, Don't look now, Poltergeist, Cannibal Holocaust, Scream, the list goes on. My favorite movie is a Japanese film called Blue Spring. It's about boys in high school who are just trying to figure out their life, and is quite beautiful as well as ultra violent. Despite my horror movie obsession- sometimes I wish I had gone to school for animation- because these days there are some incredibly beautiful works out there that I wish I could have worked on. Oh well, haha. Music is really more Jesse's passion- I always rely on him to bring up some awesome music, and that's why we make a great team. I used to read way more books when I was younger- but lately I've been slowly discovering Vonnegut and I couldn't be happier.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll try my best to help with any crafty situation that lands under my nose. I'm always willing to learn about things I don't know about, and I love to share my movies with people (cause it's not as much fun to watch alone.) Is that the right answer- this isn't really a question.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you're hosting me it will likely be with Jesse as well, which works out for you because we're better as a pair anyway. Jesse is super charismatic and can make friends with anyone because he always sees the best in everyone. He also has extensive music knowledge and could help you find some new bands that you may like. I can bring along some of my movies if you're interested in seeing something different, or I also can help with craft projects. Jesse is also a great cook- so if there is interest in that, maybe we could make a good meal together. We also love playing games and will likely be carrying a game or two with us.
