Overview
About Me
- I have self converted a camper-van so travel around in it a lot. It is the greatest thing I have ever done and I now love DIY
- I write, at the moment I am writing what might turn out to be a novel (we shall see).
- I tutor online and work hospitality gigs but my aim is to become a campaign writer for non-profits.
- I will be clean and respectful of your home/time/wake-up times.
- Not looking for a romantic thing on CS - I would just like to meet new people and exchange stories, advice, food.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I discovered Workaway when I was in my early early 20's and loved it (if you don't know look it up, it is a work exchange programme with hundreds of thousands of opportunities). Using it I travelled to Hawaii, Egypt, Martinique, The Dominican Republic and across the West Balkans helping elderly women exercise, fixing mosquito nets, and picking and packing noni fruit. I don't know why but I got a bit scared of couch surfing (the first couple of stories I heard about it worried me) HOWEVER, I have since heard such wonderful stories of connection, cultural exchange and friendship, and I really want to give this a good go.
I don't want to write "I love travel" because it isn't about that for me. When asked as a child what did I want to do when I grew up I replied "I want to do every job in the world for just one day" and workaway, volunteering, travelling and couchsurfing allow me to get close to doing just that.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach basics on guitar, I can teach you how to play the spoons badly. I can teach you how to cook vegetarian pies, or meat pies. I could teach you how to bake (traditional big english sponge cakes, bread and gooey brownies are a favourite). I am also good with anything based around the English language, so proof-reading, copy writing, academic writing support, research help etc. etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my DIY knowledge, my knowledge of vans and converting (which while limited is helpful). Alternative living tips, bread recipes, methods etc. In depth conversations about literary theory, philosophy, current events. Basically I love an educated conversation.
