About Me
Hi! I just graduated from with my Masters in Social Work and I'm hoping to travel this summer before I start work as a therapist. I'm planning on Paris, Berlin, and Amman for certain.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just graduated with my Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago, and now that I finally have time and energy I'm trying to plan a trip so I can explore and enjoy the summer before beginning work as a therapist. I want to get to know the version of cities people experience in their daily lives, to meet and connect with humans for friendship, shared experiences, or just to co-exist. my place in Chicago also has a lot of couch space, and I'm looking forward to hosting people before and after my trip! can't wait to meet you, especially if you're queer/trans, a person of color, an activist/organizer, artist, or just trying to make this world more livable/beautiful in whatever way makes sense for you.
Interests
Watching bad reality TV, walking for miles in new places, eating, playing with make up, camping, being outside, painting (badly)
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: 90s and 2000s r&b, trashy boy bands, dancehall, princess nokia, leif, janelle monae, lizzo, emo/punk-pop, bounce, anything that's fun to sing or dance to
Books: currently reading Octavia Butler for the first time, and I'm also slowly making it through Persistence: All Ways Butch and Femme. mostly I've been reading about trauma and oppression for my masters program, so I'm excited to read for funsies again!
Movies: shitty rom-coms over almost anything TBH
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw "blue ghost" fireflies in the Appalachian mountains-- they light up blue all at the same time, and shut off all at the same time. it was incredible!
