I'm new to Couchsurfing and I'm excited to make some new friends around the world. I grew up in California and currently live in Des Moines, Iowa. I'm spontaneous and love learning new things and exploring new places. I'm a teacher and loving having conversations about science and psychology. I also love music and nature, and could discuss my favorite songs and artists forever.

I think traveling is always made better with companions who have some knowledge of the city you're visiting. I also think meeting people who are different than you helps create more acceptance and tolerance among people, and helps create a more connected and empathetic world. I'd love to reap some of the benefits of this and broaden my horizons. I'm planning on traveling alone this upcoming summer, but would love some local pals who are willing to hang out with me and show me the cool spots in your town.
