Overview
About Me
I'm Sarah, a traveller from northern England. I'm a writer, reader, cyclist, coffee aficionado and big on seeing new sights and meeting new people. I spent the summer last year travelling through workaway, doing all kinds of things, and intended to couchsurf but ended up not having chance. Now, I'm making a bigger adventure and heading over to Canada for up to 18 months to explore, find my path in life and have a whole bunch of new experiences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think couchsurfing is awesome - I love workaway and trust-based programmes, where you can feel at home anywhere. I spent 5 months this year volunteering for my room and board across Europe, helping with everything and everyone from families who had taken in refugees through to American architects renovating chateaus in France. It was brilliant. I enjoy getting to know open-minded people and I think couchsurfing attracts those.
Interests
Arts, culture, cycling, gardening, textiles, writing, travelling, sustainability, ethical living, environmental science. I'm currently working at a real ale pub in York and with that has come a bigger interest in beer (mainly drinking it).

Music, Movies, and Books
Musically, I'm not talented but a big listener. You can find me on Spotify (Sarah-Havas). Books; non-fiction is my forte but fiction wise, Station Eleven. Movies? Ghibli, or adventure movies. Into the Wild changed my life, and I ended up writing my dissertation on what attracts people to the wilderness.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to cook great veggie food and I'm pretty tidy - I'll leave the place looking like it did when I arrived and do my best to help you with anything you need doing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
