About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to find contentment, but i'd settle for a bit of adventure.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently working as a researcher for a Marine Archaeologist. At the moment, that sadly doesn't involve any travel, and I've either been too busy or too broke to travel as extensively as I'd like.

Or.. more recently travel plans have fallen apart when various friends have bailed at the last moment. So instead of waiting for friends to get their shit together, I've decided to figure it out on my own and meet new people to travel with. Because it's blatantly easier to travel in pairs. :)

I'm also an aspiring writer, but I've been drawing blanks lately, so hoping to get out there and get some inspiration. Cliche, but there you go.

PHILOSOPHY

you is kind, you is smart, you is important.

also the best way out really is through.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't yet! I'm not even sure how this works but I'm hoping to find sweet, strange people to travel with. Unfortunately I haven't got digs or a sofa to host people with but as soon as I do, I'm willing to try that out.

If we traveled together I would so make you a personal mix tape for each day/destination. I would also research amazing things to do/see obsessively so we know what's available, but be open to just going with it when we arrive. Some of my best memories have come from saying yes to something bizarre or new.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

See above. Never tried this before, but intend to give it a go

Interests

Books (mostly fiction), film, graphic design, photography, food, music, coffee, writing.

And uh. Instead of stress eating, I make itineraries. I'm serious. When I get stressed I sit on my computer and plan the most extravagant far-flung trips imaginable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Griffiths Observatory planetarium show nearly made me cry. Okay fine, I did actually cry, but in my defence it was lovely.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been told I'm good at helping people express themselves in writing. I can cook though never tried teaching anyone. I'm really rather good at driving and parking my car. I can help you organise things (always easier to help other people do that). I'm good at having terrifying/intense misadventures that are hilarious afterwards-and sometimes during. Other than that If you need someone to show you how to twist your ankle multiple times in one day, I'm your girl.

In more practical terms, I would be eternally grateful to anyone who could teach me how to swim (yes I know), dance, make cocktails, and use FinalCut Pro.
