I saw a meme on Facebook that made me cry. You know, that old chestnut. You shouldn't need a vacation from your life. True enough. The irony of finding inspiration to change my life from a meme floating around Facebook is not lost on me....but here I am.
I have a big life. Full time job, 4 rad kids, 2 dogs. I'm busy.
I want...no, *need* time to travel and cultivate pleasures purely for myself.
Also, my New Year's Resolution was to not let fear be the major motivating factor in my decision-making process. I have stuck to it and this year has been incredible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am busy. All the time. When I travel now it is to cultivate a sense of gratitude and to engage in a slow paced life- fresh food, art, poetry and excellent conversation. Good soul-foody type stuff. But I am a busy mom and my trips are short and have to be cheap. I have always loved meeting locals...it just never occurred to me to sleep on their couches. So here I go....

Managed 27 total hours of travel time with a 7, 4 and 2 year old. After that, any trip will be cake.
