I have a degree in Scandinavian studies (focus on Swedish and Finnish language, medieval Icelandic literature) and am working towards being a translator for Swedish and Finnish (into German). I worked one year in Helsinki as a German teacher.

When I travel I love meeting new people and especially people living in the country Im traveling. I love to hear their stories, learn from them, share experiences, ideas and memories - and hope to be able to pay it back one day in my country :)

Music, Movies, and Books

For music I am mostly into hard rock and heavy metal. I have a special interest into scandinavian literature and within the field I love reading sagas when it comes to medieval literature, but also appreciate modern literature. Among my favorite authors are Arto Paasilinna, Tove Jansson, Astrid Lindgren, Knut Hamsun, CJL Almqvist, Johanna Sinisalo and the french writer Émile Zola.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* Backpacking through Canada and Hawaii meeting incredible people.

* Good people exist - just be open-hearted and open-minded yourself :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Mhh.... I can torture them with German grammar ( or Finnish) ;) I can bake things for them (or cook a german dish). I'd love to talk about each others' life philosophy, learn new things, get new insights, discuss literature and I'd love to help out with the one or other project they might have to finish while I'm at their place :)
