Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Sarah! I am a Korean-American naturopathic medical student from Portland, Oregon, USA. After losing my dearly beloved dog of 12.5 years, I decided to sell all my belongings and take a year off from grad school in order to backpack around the world.
Aside from travel, I enjoy nature and the outdoors, cooking Korean food, mindfulness/meditation/minimalism, and any efforts I can make to reduce my carbon footprint.
I’m really friendly and outgoing and easy to get along with. I am pretty low maintenance and very independent, so you can be as involved as you want to be or don’t want to be. I’m happy to explore alone but always enjoy the company too!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love solo travel because of the freedom it allows me to meet new and interesting people. I’ve made lifelong friends abroad through hostel stays and visited them in their home countries and hosted them in mine. However, hostel stays generally only allow you to meet other tourists, and I’d love to meet local folks! I’m on CS because I’m genuinely interested in exchanging cultures, learning from locals, and connecting with others!

Music, Movies, and Books
I think everyone should read “The Righteous Mind.” Other than that, I like to nerd out on books on nutrition, mental health, and feminism.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took my dog Timone on a national parks road trip through Canada and held him up like Simba at every site. Remind me to show you pictures!
