About Me

I'm a multi disciplinary artist currently travelling Mexico and the USA. I've just completed a month residency making ceramics with local artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico. I'm open mined and out going with an easy going attitude. I love meeting new people and exploring new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although I'm new to Couchsurfing I've hosted many travellers over the years through meeting people out and about. I've joined the movement in hope of finding people to stay with on my current travels and hope to return the favour in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I often find it difficult to read books or will read 3 at once due to a short attention span. I like zines, photo and skate mags and just general art n culture stuff. I'm currently reading 'The Alchemist' and have been told by a couple of people on my journey so far that it's their favourite book. Movies wise I hate rom coms and Bridget Jones Diary with a vengeance. I do however love B-Grade films, horror, thriller, and art house type stuff. I also have a soft spot for 80's film and most things retro. I've recently watched Stranger Things which is a rad series and love the futuristic and examining spin on modern society of Black Mirror and Utopia. I'm a bit of a thinker so I normally lean towards conscious works that move me emotionally or psychologically.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess I've done lots of amazing things. Small victories and personal victories. One thing I'm proud of is working in Youth Work and in the Social field. I'm currently taking a break from this type of work as it's challenging and often depleting but will return in the future. I would like to train in Art Therapy and work in prisons in years to come. My recent personal achievement is attaining a residency in Mexico to make Ceramics. Against the odds and money/ time restraints I somehow managed to make this dream a reality. The thing I enjoy most of recent times is making ceramics and I feel very lucky to have been able to travel to the other side of the world and learn ancient techniques from local artisans. Dream big and the skies the limit.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm all about skill sharing and am willing to share the varied knowledge and skills I have as well as taking on those from others. We can learn a lot from one another in life and it's a much better way to go about things than just googling it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good attitude, conversation and laughter. Cooking, cleaning and a helping hand around the place. I'm a considerate guest and will chip in where I can.
