Overview
About Me
I live and work in Yellowstone and need a place to stay in between my summer and winter contract. I lived in San Diego from 1998-2008 in Hillcrest/University Heights/Bankers Hill areas.
One year ago I had a baby for a gay male couple who live in Carlsbad. I've been asked to speak on the subject at a conference for birthmothers in Carlsbad end October. I'm also hoping to finish a book before winter.
I'm a 39 year old, single woman who will be spending my stay writing, possibly taking surf lessons, and spending time with my daughter.
I don't drink or smoke, I'm a great cook, quiet, practice yoga daily, not allergic to animals (and very happy to dog walk). I'd love to stay in my old neighborhoods but in reality just need to be close to a bus stop as I am a soft carbon footprint kinda gal.

Music, Movies, and Books
i just finished a playlist from my music that included, Thievery Corporation, Neil Young, Gregory Isaac, Jurassic 5, Dolly Parton, Cat Stevens, John Legend, Miley Cyrus, Joan Osborne and Anthony Hamilton, Tom Petty, Tracy Chapman, Hozier and Stevie Wonder.... my taste clearly is all over the board.
As for movies in my top ten are MASH, The Lives of Others (German), Amaelie (French), Cinema Paradiso (Italian), All The Presidents Men Contact, The Hurt Locker. Guilty pleasure movies? Steel Magnolias, Grandmas Boy, Dirty Dancing (embarrassing I know but living in Yellowstone looks a lot like the movie. I'm still waiting for Johnny Castle to teach me the lift in the lake)
Books.....a lot of reference and pop culture rarely fiction. Authors I love are John Krakauer, Where Men Win Glory (Pat Tillman story) has tear stains on about page 167. Michael Pollen is my favorite food writer, Hunter S. Thompson, for fiction Michael Connolly and Denis Lehane are about it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I tail hook landed and catapulted on to and off of the USS Vinson. Second to the birth of my two children.....coolest thing I've ever done. If you recall that was the same carrier they dumped Osama Bin Laden's corpse off of. To think I've even occupied the same same space is surreal.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a passion for teaching children how to cook, dream job would be working for Jamie Oliver's non profit educating children on nutrition. Kids yoga is really fun too.
I'm up to learn anything and everything in my path. I practice what I call "engineered serendipity", taking new paths with the expectation of "stumbling" into people and experiences for good or bad that enrich and add to my life experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
What it's like to be a birthmother to a child with two dads? How to make good pasta, what its like to live in a national park, healthy delicious meals, kickstart a yoga/meditation practice that has benefitted me in every single aspect of life.
Countries I’ve Visited
Bahamas, Belgium, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, United Kingdom
