About Me

Hi! I'm Sarah, and I'm a second grade teacher in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I'm a Penn State grad, and I love enjoying the hiking and snowboarding that Colorado has to offer! I love to cook, and have an obsession with food, wine, and really good beer....especially with really good company! I haven't done a ton of traveling in my life, and am really excited to embark on a big European vacation through June and July 2015. I'm hoping I can meet some great new people via this awesome site!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I travel Europe, I'm hoping to connect with some people that I can stay with along my journey--not only to save money, but also to help me explore and navigate the beauty of Europe! I'd love to be a host to similarly minded people who are visiting Colorado Springs, and show them this lovely city and give them a safe and comfortable place to stay!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have too many bands that I love to describe my "favorite music." I grew up going to punk rock shows, and love bands like Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, the Lawrence Arms, etc....also really into a lot of indie bands. And all 80s music. My favorite movie of all time is a tie between The Princess Bride and Singin' in the Rain (I have a secret love for musicals of any time). I don't have a favorite book, but I love anything by David Sedaris--big fan of memoirs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't traveled the world going on unbelievable adventures....but for 6 years, I have had the honor of teaching underprivileged second graders everything they need to know. It's my passion, and where my love lies---to me, working with these kiddos has been, and will continue to be, the most amazing thing I have done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not completely understanding what is supposed to go in the box. Oops.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I only joined this site on June 15th (I didn't know it existed!), so I don't have an address verification yet, unfortunately :( I hope that hosts will still consider allowing me to stay with them--I'll be glad to provide my Facebook information, and answer any questions they may have!
