About Me

I'm a slow traveler :) I have traveled to few countries, only in Europe, but every time was an incredible experience: from an Erasmus in Turin right in the middle of the pandemic, to living a year in Copenhagen trying to understand the Danish way of life, to working five months in the iconic Icehotel during the polar winter in Lapland... The journey is just starting!

I just stopped working and moved out of Copenhagen with no other plan than travelling around Europe for the summer. I will be sharing this journey with my English boyfriend, Sam, who has already been all over the world but has not seen that much of Europe. We are both spontaneous and opened to adventures. We both love busy cities because they are filled with interesting people, as much as we love nature because it offers breathtaking landscapes that make you forget about everything else.

*At home, I eat plant-based and aim for a vegan lifestyle but, as I am travelling, my motto is "try everything once". Therefore if I am offered traditional food, I will of course try it! But I will still prefer plant-based options whenever it's possible.*

*None of us has a proper "home" at the moment so we are here only as Surfers for now!*

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first used Couchsurfing when I was 18 and stayed with the most amazing family near Naples, Italy (ciao Rocco & Maddalena!!). Since then, this memory stayed in my mind as one of the happiest in my life... and I have only been dreaming of trying this experience again!

Now that I am planning my biggest journey ever, 2-3 months slow travelling around Europe with my English boyfriend, I think it is the perfect time to get back at it and meet more of the Couchsurfing community! In my opinion, it is the best way to discover a place from a local's point of view and to meet like-minded travellers.

Unfortunately, I have never had the chance to host surfers as I have always lived in shared houses or tiny apartments with not even a couch... The day I have a proper home and some space to offer, I will definitely give back to the CS community as much as I can!

Music, Movies, and Books

*Music*
All kinds of music depending on my mood! Everything between Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Stevie Wonder, Vulpeck, Disclosure, Kaytranada, Jungle, dodie, Voyou, Funk Shui Project, Carole King, The Beatles, Deluxe or FKJ. I like anything with a good beat or a nice guitar riff or meaningful lyrics. Always down to discover new music or classics that are missing to my culture!

*Films*
I would always choose a film that makes me cry over an action film, even though it doesn't need to be sad sad. My favorite film ever is La La Land: I check every year that my love for it doesn't change, and spoiler... it doesn't! I love going to the cinema to watch very niche films from all over the world.

*Books*
I don't read as much as I would like but I try! I enjoying reading French novels. My favorite author is Belgian and she is called Amelie Nothomb. I also like Italian literature: I enjoyed "My Brilliant Friend" by Elena Ferrante so much that I wrote my Bachelor's degree's paper on it. I also read essays that make me think over new ways to live in this world. My absolute favorite author in this category is Rutger Bregman: I highly recommend you read "Human Kind" or "Utopia for Realists" if you don't know him, both books have shaped my way of seeing the world and its potential!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every single adventure I have lived so far, whether it be in the far Polar Circle or just around my native France, has been amazing for me! I love talking about travel experiences so that will most probably be one conversation subject if we get to meet up ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be happy to teach some words of French or Italian, share some music/films from my country! I have played the guitar for many years but have lost a lot of my skill as I haven't played in the past years... So it would be great to start playing again, jamming with people just for fun and singing along!

Sam has been working for the past years as a bartender so he would gladly make cocktails for you if you have the ingredients needed ;) Before that he was a diving instructor and a marine biologist so he has a lot to share about this as well!

Above all, we have great energy and friendliness that we are happy to spread everywhere we go. We're always ready for passionate conversations, cooking sessions, walks in the city or in the nature...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sam and I would be glad to share about life experiences/travels/culture/food/music... as well as the little things that make life exciting: a cup of tea in the morning, walking around the city, playing board games, making dinner while listening to music, dancing around the house...

We hope that our happy duo can bring some smiles and fun times wherever we stop for a night or more! We are very easy to live with and like to help with anything that can make hosting us easier :)
