Overview
About Me
I spend a lot of my time reading or watching movies or listening to people, anything that tells me a story really. I very much love to travel, and we do as much of it as we can manage. We live in Oregon, and we take advantage of the insane beauty around us as often as possible. We hike, camp, drink, laugh and play as often as we can.
Derek is in the same boat, he's my adventure partner/husband. He speaks french and has a degree in history. He's very into games, of every kind. We will have a few tucked away in our packs if you are interested, he would be very happy to share.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We both hosted while living in Utah, we felt like it was our duty to show people the side of our tiny town usually hidden from the regular hikers/festival attendees. I loved every second of it, it was like going on a tiny vacation in your own town every weekend. I met new friends, learned new things and felt more involved in the world I live in with every new surfer.
We are taking a month-long trip through Europe/UK in October and while I've never been a surfer, I am really looking forward to being on this side of things.
We need very little, just a spot to sleep and somewhere to take a shower.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Flaming Lips, The Beatles, Radio Head, The Tallest Man On Earth, Paul Simon, Foxygen, Wilco, The Mountain Goats. Just the last few artists I've listened to today . . We both love music, especially when it's live.
Derek is into electronic music, I'm not so much. He's got loads of reccomendations but you'll have to ask him in person!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Earlier this year we camped in a Yurt, hiked to a shipwreck and met a fisherman who showed us a truck full of treasures he'd found at the bottom of the ocean. All while standing by a campfire that someone else had started.
It was nothing short of magical.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can share games, laughs, music and adventure. We're both very patient people, and aren't in a hurry to get anywhere. . Ever.
Our goal for this trip isn't necessarily to see everything Europe has to offer but to meet the people and get a taste of life elsewhere.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Mexico
