About Me

I'm currently a full time student studying Linguistics on exchange for the year from New Zealand. I love literature and languages a whole lot, and I'm passionate about spreading the education of languages in an effective way. The place I feel most at home and connected is in the midst of nature with friends. I also find travelling has helped me appreciate human connection and compassion so much more- the kindness of strangers is everywhere, and it challenges me to bring something to my society and environment, creatively or socially, that has an impact for the better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet new people in new cities, and share experiences, stories and journeys together. A safe space with friendly faces in a place that is unfamiliar is something to be cherished, and something I want to contribute to. I'm looking forward to hosting others when I get back to my home country!

Interests

I enjoy gigs, musicals (and singing along- I can give you a rendition of any Les Mis song if you ask, or even if you don't), hiking, camping, and being in nature in general. I'm also not bad at baking!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love folk, indie and jazz music, but I'm not super picky with genre and love sharing the experience of music with people. Andrew Bird, Damien Rice, Fleet Foxes, We Are Scientists and Timber Timbre are favourite musicians/ music groups of mine.
I'm into science fiction and thriller movies.
In terms of books I love dystopian and experimental fiction–something that challenges perceptions, creates an atmosphere or is moving. I'm fond of Margaret Atwood.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, good stories, long-winding chats about language and nature, help around the house- whatever!
