Hi! My name is Sarah Yaffe and I'm a world traveler. So far, I have explored over 50 countries in 6 continents, with Antarctica being the next country/continent on my bucket list! I am also hoping to visit Cuba, Japan, and Argentina in the near future.. I was born and raised in Florida and I am currently studying in Boston. Almost all of my family is from Belgium, so I am often traveling back and forth to Europe!

When people ask me about my journey(s), I always make the distinction that I do not explore new territories on this earth as a tourist, but as a traveler. For staters, I almost always travel alone for multiple reasons such as self-discovery and growth, easier opportunities to meet new people, and gaining life experiences. I also try not to rely on maps and cellular data to find my way around a new area, but instead, wander around the city and follow street signs. I have found some of the cutest low-key shops, cafes, and areas with street art by wandering!

I'm a huge foodie, I love music festivals, and I'm an adrenaline junkie :)

Although I am new to the couchsurfing website, I have used the couchsurfing method around the world and have met incredible people along the way. Some of my closest friends that I have made were because they let me crash on their couch. I can assure you that I will leave your place spotless and treat you to a nice meal and some beers :) And you are always welcome at my place in Boston or to join me in any trips in the future!

Meeting new people from all over the world and learning about their everyday lives and their background is one of the biggest reasons why I travel. Visiting new areas of the world is always exciting, but interacting with a local from the area makes my traveling experience memorable.

I believe that making global friendships is far more valuable than staying at some fancy hotel or a hostel with a bunch of friends. I love to exchange laughs, stories, and learn about new cultures! I am always up for a night out or staying low-key at home.

Favorite music: All things EDM! I have been to Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Electronic Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, and Tomorrowland in Belgium! I love love love to dance :)

I don't watch many movies and I do not even own a TV because I am always out and about! I do have Netflix and I love The Office, Breaking Bad, Gossip Girl, Orange is the New Black, and many more shows.
