Über mich
Hi there! My name is Sarah and I recently graduated from the MSc Neuroscience program at University College London. I am currently in the process of applying to jobs and deciding what type of career I want. I am quite a typical Dutch direct communicator, independent, critical, creative but organized, open-minded, music junkie, brown belt in karate, love science and strongly value corporate social responsibility.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I will travel between London and my hometown in the Netherlands more regularly the upcoming time and look forward to meeting more interesting people in London (where I can crash) during this period.
Interessen
One of the greatest tools humans have is the scientific method. To understand anything in the world we live in I believe we have to apply this method to come closest to unbiased answers. My assumption here is that people are equally curious to gain more knowledge and approach life with an open-minded, inquisitive and critical nature.
Next, I absolutely love karate. It is a beautiful type of martial arts that teaches efficiency and self-control. For hosts: I can be both your safeguard as well as a sparring partner.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Music: depends on my mood, but I always come back to soul, jazz and funky fusion.
Movies: I have to admit I rarely watch any because I am a total music freak.
Books: Hopscotch (Rayuéla) and The painting of Dorian Gray (Wilde).
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
As a board member of student foundation Didi care and Education I led a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to build a new school for >700 destitute children in India. This campaign engaged over 1000 supporters and exceeded the initial goal amount by 10%. To see how this contribution realized the accessibility and improved quality of education for so many children was truly amazing.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I love research, music and play piano, recorder and sing a lot. I always enjoy a good exchange of tunes. Next, I am able to ask critical and probing questions which may help you in times of uncertainty about life - or anything else that matters to you, really.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I can share an endless passion for music, art, concern about human consciousness, philosophizing about existential questions, provide a listening ear and - not to forget - I love a crazy good dance party once in a while.
