About Me

Hey! My name is Sarah and my boyfriend is Rhidian.(https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/rhidianredston)
We are massive fans of couch surfing as both surfers, and hosts. I was a geologist a few years ago working in the mining industry in Western Australia, where Rhidian and I met. Then we saved up all our money and quit our jobs and bought a one way ticket to go travelling in 2013. Since then, we cant stop, and this year we're super excited to be visiting Japan! I moved back to Melbourne at the start of 2014 and decided I wanted to go back and study fine art - painting. I have finished 2 years of studying art and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to have my own studio space at Uni where I get to go everyday and just make art and be creative.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have been lucky enough to be hosted by so many kind hearted people all over the world. We have had some amazing experiences and become close friends with many of our fellow couchsurfers. In Melbourne we have also hosted some magnificent human beings too! All thanks to couch surfing!

I really love the sincerity that couch surfing brings to travelling, getting the opportunity to be graciously invited into people's homes and sharing their every day lives is a beautiful thing that you can't get from staying in hotels or hostels.
I have also found hosting people to be a very fulfilling experience too. Being able to offer a comfortable bed in our home, some delicious home cooked food and helping fellow travellers is a pleasure. To be able to share things with other travellers about my home town and country makes me see Melbourne with different eyes and realise what a wonderful city it is.
